With students now having to stay in full-time education until they’re 18 years old, many who simply want to get out into the world, start working and earn a living are turning to apprenticeships. The Government expect the number of apprentices to grow significantly as a growing number of school-leavers take this route into their chosen careers.
In recognition of this, local charity Basingstoke Sports Trust has created a new tier of health and fitness membership specifically for Apprentices under 20 – Premier Apprentice. This provides a lower-cost membership with full access to the gyms, swimming and 100 classes each week at Basingstoke Sports Centre.
Elke Jackson, Trustee, said “we’re really passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to take regular exercise and this is a group of people for whom a reduced membership price could really make a difference”.
Commenting on the new membership tier, James Starbuck, Chief Executive, added “the number of apprenticeships is expected to grow considerably each year and, with more students opting for this career route, we’re keen to make sure our offer remains accessible”.
For more information on membership for Apprentices – available from 1st April 2016 – please contact Basingstoke Sports Centre on 01256 302242. Apprentices joining during April will also receive a 100% discount on their joining fee.
