SWIMATHON 2018 UPDATE
By Sarah Rebbeck, Swimming Manager
Basingstoke Sports Centre once again hosted a hugely successful Swimathon during the evening of Saturday 28th April. This year, the event was fundraising for both Marie Curie UK and Cancer Research UK.
We had a total of 12 individual swimmers along with 7 teams who undertook the challenge, swimming distances from 1.5km to 5km. The fastest solo 5km was swum in an incredible 1:23:50 by Swimming Teacher and Bluefins Coach Emily Budzynski-Seymour.
Duty Manager Julie Howick swam in a Team with her young children Aaron and Luke, completing their 5km challenge in an impressive 2:22:00
We look forward to hearing how much money our swimmers raised for Marie Curie and Cancer Research in due course.
Watch out for the SWIMATHON 2019 details, which will be advertised towards the end of the year. Thanks again to everyone that took part!
