Who is bstFitness?

bstFitness is the health and fitness arm of Basingstoke Sports Trust (BST). BST is a not-for-profit Leisure Trust and a registered charity (registration number 301731). This means that any surplus we generate is invested back into the facilities and services we provide. This year, BST is celebrating 51 years since it was established and 46 years of trading at Basingstoke Sports Centre (in Festival Place, Basingstoke).

What are the opening times of the Club?

The Club is open 06:05 to 22:00 Monday to Friday, and 08:00 to 19:00 Saturdays and Sundays. The gym will be available throughout this period with the swimming pool and sauna being available subject to the pool programme. Bank holiday timings may vary.

What will my membership include?

Your membership includes:  use of the Gym, Sauna, Swimming pool (subject to pool timetable), studio classes, and free car parking (for up to 2½ hours subject to availability). We have chosen a one-fits-all price point so as to avoid having a complicated range of membership tariffs.

Is car parking included?

bstfitness operates an Automatic Numberplate Recognition System (ANPR). Members may park for free for up to 2½ hours and must enter their number plate on the kiosk in-club. For more information, please refer to car park signs or speak to a team member.

There is significant additional car parking available within a short walking distance at Parkway Shopping Centre which starts from £1.00 per hour. 

What is in the Gym?

The gym and functional training area includes the latest Pulse equipment: comprising a wide range of cardiovascular equipment - including treadmills, cross-trainers, bikes, concept II rowers and more – a complete range of resistant machines, plate loaded strength equipment, TRX, dumbbells up to 50 kg, 1 Smith machine and 1 Squat Rack, Olympic bars and various benches. There is also a “Work-It Circuit” area; a range of resistance machines designed to give you a full-body workout from only 20 minutes. An ideal lunchtime session for the busy professional.

What studio classes will be running?

A full studio time table is available to view on our website. It will include classes such as Studio Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, various Les Mills classes, Zumba, aerobics and aqua aerobics. The programme will provide the opportunity to work out before work, at lunchtime and in the evenings in addition to at the weekend.

What does the joining fee cover?

The standard £20.00 joining fee covers your induction, gym consultation, membership card and programme card. Gym training programmes and reviews can be booked with a member of the gym team and are provided free of charge to all members.

When will I pay my first Direct Debit, and can I amend it?

Your first direct debit will be requested from your bank on the 1st of each month. Unfortunately, we are unable to change this date, but your membership is pro-rated at the beginning, so you only pay for the number of days left until the 1st direct debit.

Am I tied into a long term Contract?

No! the membership is based on a rolling monthly contract. If you decide to leave simply contact us before you leave and cancel your Direct Debit. Full details are outlined in the Terms and Conditions which you can download when you join.

What do I need to bring with me when I come to the Club?

Appropriate clothing and footwear, your membership card (once issued), a padlock for the locker (available to purchase in the Club) and a gym towel. Please also remember to bring a debit/credit card as all the vending on-site is cashless and you will need your card should you wish to purchase a drink, snack, padlock, goggles etc from the vending machines provided.

Is Personal Training available?

Yes. There are fully qualified Personal Trainers available at additional cost. Please note that gym consultations, programmes and programme reviews are provided free of charge to our members by our gym team. For more information please speak to a Gym Instructor or Reception.
