The Charity is looking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Wellbeing Development Officer to join the Charity. The successful applicant will be supporting the Head of Customer Experience with a variety of tasks as part of the Health & Wellbeing scheme, which is designed to improve the levels of physical activity and the overall health of people in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas. Current programmes include Active in Health, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Steady and Strong, Active Minds and Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds.  

The role is a permanent, part-time role working 24 hours per week over three or four days.

You will be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will be cheerful and friendly and have the ability to organise, plan time and workload and prioritise tasks. Having relevant qualifications and experience of working in the leisure industry is essential.

The successful applicant will

  • Increase participation and Health and Wellbeing memberships at Basingstoke Sports Trust
  • Support the coordination of projects at Basingstoke Sports Centre and the wider Basingstoke community, contacting clients referred by their GP’s and healthcare professionals.
  • Review and monitor class figures, maintaining registers and ensuring that all appointments and follow up calls are made.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Charity and programme assisting with new opportunities as required.
  • Deal with customer and healthcare professionals enquiries and concerns

Created in 1965, we manage two facilities – Basingstoke Sports Centre and bstFitness, Newbury. The Charity’s mission statement is ‘Supporting Local Communities to Lead Happier, Healthier, More Active Lives’.
